An affinity with rural communities and extensive resource management knowledge provide a substantial starting block for new Wairoa District Council Regulatory Manager, Helen Montgomery.
Ms Montgomery brings significant experience of the regulatory and planning environment within local government, having worked as team leader of Planning and Policy for Buller District Council for several years.
Wairoa District Council CEO Fergus Power said she is a welcome addition to the management team.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Helen’s calibre joining us here in Wairoa. Council has been without a dedicated regulatory manager for many years, so her presence will provide targeted leadership in this area,” he said.
"Wairoa district is rapidly developing a reputation as a place to seek real career challenge in an exciting new environment, and Wairoa District Council itself is becoming increasingly recognised for making a genuine effort to return prosperity and vitality to the district".
Ms Montgomery is scheduled to take up her position as head of the Regulatory team on July 14.
