Dave Dobbyn: Slice of Heaven - 40 Years of Hits

For four decades Dave Dobbyn’s music has become part of the nation’s soundtrack.

He has won 29 Music Awards and three Silver Scrolls - more than any other Kiwi artist - and songs released by Th’ Dudes, DD Smash and as a solo artist regularly feature in best song lists.

Dobbyn and his band undertake a Theatre tour down the country, kicking off in Whangarei on April 12 and wrapping up just over two weeks later in Invercargill, in a show that will feature favourites old and new, along with anecdotes about how the songs came to be, all told in his inimitable style.

“Playing provincial New Zealand gigs is my favourite thing,” Dobbyn said. “I love it so much, it’s pure pleasure. Just being aware of the community and community life - everyone’s celebrating, there’s an energy flow that’s healthily contagious.”
