Locals were on glide time as they tested their skating prowess at the mobile ice rink based in town last week.
The Ice Skate Tour travels around New Zealand with state-of-the-art artificial ice rinks and proved a popular hit with locals.
The rink was brought to town by the Wairoa District Council which wanted to create an opportunity for whānau to get together, get active and reconnect the community.
Wairoa Primary School Juniors loved their time on the ice and wrote thanking the Council for bringing ice skating to Wairoa. “The ice skating was fun and the students all enjoyed their time. There were a few slips and slides, but it was an awesome opportunity for our students to experience.”
