New premises for Age Concern Wairoa

Age Concern 1

Age Concern Wairoa is now situated in its new premises on Marine Parade.

The local organisation has a focus on older members of the community and is thrilled with its new main street location.

Age Concern Manager Jan Little said the new base, in the former Wairoa Star building, enables the local organisation to raise its profile and be even more accessible.

“We want to increase our involvement with the community and being in the heart of the main street will help achieve that. Age Concern connects, supports, empowers, celebrates, and respects all older people in an inclusive community. Our aim is to support our community by being there to help in whatever way we can.”

An official opening was held at the new premises on Tuesday (15.01.25) morning, attended by stakeholders, support agencies and neighbouring businesses.

Wairoa District Council Chief Executive Kitea Tipuna said the main street will increase the profile of Age Concern. “It is important that our kaumatua have a support system in place, and being on the main street will help that connection grow.”

To get in touch with Age Concern, call into the main street site, 176 Marine Parade Monday -Thursday 9am -3pm or phone 06 8383388.
