Wairoa District Council is advising motorists that the temporary Te Reinga Bridge remains restricted to light vehicles only while awaiting the arrival of new running boards necessary for permanent repairs.
The restriction, which limits access to vehicles weighing 3.5 tonnes or less, will remain in place until the repairs can be completed.
This is expected to take at least the rest of the week.
Drivers are also reminded that the speed limit across the bridge is 10kmh, and any vehicle exceeding the 3.5-tonne limit is not permitted to cross.
The Council acknowledges the inconvenience and appreciates the community's patience during this time.
