New citizens welcomed to Wairoa

Citizenship 7

A group of new citizens were welcomed to the district in a Wairoa District Council citizenship ceremony held recently.

The ceremony included a pre-recorded Message from Dame Cindy Kiro, The Governor-General of New Zealand, the new citizens swearing oaths and affirmations of allegiance and being presented with a certificate of citizenship.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little said it is a pleasure to welcome new citizens to Wairoa. “New citizens enrich our society, and while they benefit from becoming a New Zealand citizen, we hope New Zealand, too, will benefit from the contribution they will make to our community.

“We are thrilled these new citizens have chosen to make Wairoa their home and we wish them all the very best.”

The new citizens are: Jiolaly Casas Basilio, Nadia Du toit, Gerrit Greyling, Cinthya Valeska Chianca Da Silva, Kinjalben Hardikkumar Prajapati, Hardikkumar Jayeshkumar Prajapati, Teao Marawa, Tebinaa Atauea and Aarohi Prajapati.
