Motorists are asked to plan for two overnight road closures at Waikare Gorge Bailey Bridge on Tuesday, 24 and Wednesday, 25 October, 7pm-5am each night.
The closure is to allow for the replacement of precast beams. No detour is in place, and NZTA Waka Kotahi urges drivers to avoid the area or delay their journey if possible.
Access for emergency services will still be available during work time.
The bridge remains structurally sound, and the new beam installations will minimise future vibrations from daily traffic.
These works depend on various factors and could be postponed at short notice.
