A free lifestyle block support recovery and resilience workshop is being run in Wairoa.

Funded through MPI’s NIWE Time Critical Primary Industries Recovery Fund, the workshop will dive into recovery and resilience to support your lifestyle block.

If you are a lifestyle block owner seeking a strong community network and valuable resources to confidently navigate emergencies, including the wellbeing of your beloved animals, Look no further! The Lifestyle Block Support Workshop will empower you on your recovery and preparedness journey.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to connect with your local lifestyle block community, vital agencies and organisations and access to resources that can support you before, during, and after an emergency.

The workshop is facilitated by Dr Hayley Squance (PhD EM) of BML Consulting Limited. Hayley is an international emergency management expert and is a lifestyle block owner. Hayley is a veterinary professional with extensive experience as a first responder and founder of the Massey University Veterinary Emergency Response Team. She was the National Animal Emergency Management Coordinator for the Ministry for Primary Industries with over 50 deployments and works with international organisations such as the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).

Hayley is renowned for facilitating engaging workshops that promote community-led connections and multi-agency collaboration and create action.

The free workshop is scheduled for Saturday, December 9, from 1-3.30pm in the War Memorial Hall.
