Wairoa kaumatua invited for morning tea with the Mayor

Mayoral Morning Tea lowres 2

Local kaumatua and senior citizens are urged to clear their calendars to join Mayor Craig Little and elected members for a cuppa and a korero on Tuesday 1 October 2024.

This year’s Mayoral morning tea is a collaboration event between Council, Age Concern and other organisations.

It is scheduled for Tuesday 1 October 2024, from 10am to 12noon at the Wairoa Presbyterian Hall in Queen Street.

Mayor Craig Little says the morning tea will coincide with International Day for Older Persons in New Zealand on Tuesday 1 October 2024.

“It is great for us to catch up with many of our senior citizens in Wairoa who have done a lot for our community,” Mayor Little says.

“I look forward to these events every year because we get to hear and see the wonderful legacy our kaumatua have created for the younger generation.

“My wife Jan, who is the patron of Age Concern, and I always look forward to catching up with familiar faces.”
