Council seeking tenders for road maintenance contracts

Hereheretau

Wairoa District Council is now inviting expressions of interest (EOI) from experienced contractors and groups who wish to tender for Council’s sealed and unsealed road network maintenance contracts.

These contracts are for all road maintenance activities, which do NOT include pavement marking, street lights, street cleaning and bridge maintenance for local roads throughout the Wairoa district.

Mayor Craig Little says any considerations will be made based on the merit of tenders for these contracts.

"Roads are a core infrastructure of Council and ongoing maintenance is a priority for our community," Mr Little said.

"These new contract models have been designed to respond to the projected demand on our roads."

The contracts will have a tenure for five years and covers a total of 871km of sealed and unsealed roads in the Wairoa district.

Council has confirmed that the contract will be awarded in May of this year, with works starting in July 2018.

Tenders will be evaluated in two stages: the expressions of interest stage and the Request for Price (RFP) stage.

Shortlisted contractors are then invited to price the physical works for each contract.

Expressions of interest close at 1pm on WEDNESDAY 21st FEBRUARY, 2018.

Documents detailing the scope of work can be downloaded from www.tenderlink.com/wairoadc.

You can also make inquiries to Libby Young, Council's Transport Asset Manager on 06 838 7309 or libby@wairoadc.govt.nz.
