A large landslide has formed on the Mangapoike River, between Papatu and Tukemokihi Stations.
Wairoa District Council, Gisborne District Council, Hawkes Bay Regional Council and the local farming community are working together to assess the landslide.
Specialists will make their way to the site and provide more information over the next few days.
More information around this situation will be released once more details come to hand.
