Asset management software a win for Wairoa

Pipe

Wairoa is leading the way in managing its 3 waters assets.

The Wairoa District Council is utilising the internationally recognised asset management software programme MAXIMO, rolled out through its 3 waters contractor Fulton Hogan.

MAXIMO is a massive database encompassing all Council’s assets which allows management for spare parts, staff records, job scheduling and helps ensure transparency, continuity and reliability for the Council managing its 3 waters assets.

Group manager community assets and services Stephen Heath said the programme had been a great win for the Wairoa district.

“Despite the enormous population swell in the Mahia and the surrounding area, which places a huge demand on Council’s systems, we had no after-hours callouts.

“We believe this is a direct result of the MAXIMO tool and preventative maintenance which Council actioned last year for Mahia and Blue Bay.

“The MAXIMO programme has worked so well for our district that I understand Fulton Hogan has now introduced what we are doing in Wairoa into Wellington water.

“We might be small rural New Zealand, but we are starting to operate at a world-class level.”

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little congratulated the Council staff and contractors for leading the way through innovation and efficiencies.
