Local businesses are encouraged to apply for the Westpac Growth Grants.

The grants are part of a push to help upcoming Kiwi businesses reach their potential.

Six regional winners will be selected with each finalist receiving a business retreat in Fiji, accommodation package and expert business advice.

The overall winner will receive $40,000 in cash and a $10,000 advertising package.

Wairoa District Council chief executive Steven May said there are some fantastic businesses, both new and established, in Wairoa, and this could be an opportunity for them to grow and hit the next level.

On May 30 there is an opportunity to hear from the 2017 winners, Ecoware, from 5.30-7.30pm at the Hawke’s Bay Business Hub in Napier.

Applications for the growth grants need to be in by 5pm on June 7 and is only available for businesses with an annual turnover of up to $10m.
