There has been an increase in gates and cattle stops being installed on rural roads in the Wairoa District.
People are reminded that except with the prior written permission of the Council, no person shall construct any swing gate and cattle stop on any road controlled by the Council or repair, reconstruct, renew, or do any work whatsoever in connection with any existing swing gate or cattle stop.
There is a process that needs to be followed in order to install these, and the approval will be at the discretion of the Community Assets and Services department of WDC.
