Council is celebrating those people who have put in the extra mile to “Tautoko Wairoa” during this lockdown.
Our first lockdown legend is Jodean Kaimoana who was nominated by our Civil Defence Controller. Jodean works for Smart Environmental, an essential service and Wairoa District Council contractor. Jodean went above and beyond in her role with Smart Environmental by sharing messaging with the community about the landfill protocols while we are in lockdown Level 4. This ensured our landfill was able to continue operating for our community while adhering to Level 4 protocols and staying safe.
