Council have approved the appointment of Anthony (Tony) Gray as a Director to Quality Roading and Services (Wairoa) Ltd – QRS.
Mayor Craig Little says he was extremely pleased with the calibre of applicants for the Director’s role.
“It says a lot about QRS when we have highly qualified candidates applying to be a Director for the organisation.”
“The calibre and quality of applicants was impressive and we are pleased with our appointment.”
“I’m so pleased that we have been able to appoint Tony as a Director for QRS.”
“Tony brings a wealth of governance experience, in particular his experience in the local government space.”
“Tony has been a Director on numerous boards and is currently serving on the board of Eastland Port, Gisborne Airport, Maungaharuru Tangitu Trust, and Ngāti Apa Developments Ltd to name but a few. He is also the current Chair of Ngāti Pukenga Investments Ltd.”
“His executive experience will also serve QRS well. Amongst his many roles, he was the Chief Financial Officer for TVNZ, Mighty River Power, and for the Hastings District Council so his financial and local government experience will be of great benefit.”
“His interests in the Hawke’s Bay East Coast region will also be beneficial as he will be able to bring a local regional perspective as a Director”, says Mr Little
Mayor Craig Little also wished to acknowledge outgoing Director Chris Torrie. “Chris has worked hard for QRS and as the former Chair of the board, led QRS well with distinction. On behalf of the Wairoa community, we thank him for his efforts and his service.”
