Buzzing with Christmas excitement

morning tea 3 002

Wairoa’s Mayoral Christmas morning tea buzzed with excitement as local senior citizens got together to celebrate the festive season.

The morning was filled with fun and entertainment plus taste temptations and even take-home bags of goodies.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little said it was great to catch up with so many familiar faces and to be able to spend time with so many people who have done so much for the community.

“Thank you to all those people who attended and helped make the occasion so enjoyable.”

Mr Little enjoyed meeting Gina and Graham Sunderland who moved to the district earlier in the year.

Gina celebrated her 65th birthday on the day of the morning tea and was thrilled to be able to attend as a new ‘senior citizen’. The couple, who are both retired church ministers, had always wanted to live rurally and bought a property at Mohaka and are thoroughly enjoying their new lifestyle.
