The section of the Hereheretau Road that was closed to heavy vehicles following further subsidence of a drop out is now open again.
The drop out site, at the 23.6km mark on Hereheretau Road, about one kilometre from the Mangapoike Road intersection, was being repaired when further collapse occurred.
As a safety precaution, the road was closed to heavy vehicles while further stabilisation was carried out.
Work is now complete, and the road is back open to heavy vehicles. Thank you to everyone for their patience while this job was carried out. Also, a big shout out to the QRS contracting team for a job well done.
