Waitangi Day Celebrations

community support black

Plans for Wairoa’s Waitangi Day celebrations are underway.

Waitangi Day,the national day of New Zealand, marks the anniversary of the initial signing – on 6 February 1840 – of the Treaty of Waitangi,

This year celebrations will be held at the Library Green on Marine Parade on Monday, February 6, from 10-2pm and include a display about Waitangi Day.

The event will feature entertainment, a bouncy castle, stalls with a variety of food, as well as spot prizes and giveaways.

The fun day is open to everyone and a great chance to have a whānau day out.

Anyone who is interested in having a stall should contact Esta at the Wairoa Community Centre. The community centre is the alternative venue if it rains.
