May events

It’s all about mums and ducks in May.

Wairoa District Council is celebrating the month of May with a chance to acknowledge our mums and a local duck shooting photograph competition.

The Mother’s Day competition will be run through Council’s Facebook page. Simply tell us why your mum is the best and you could win a Mother’s Day gift. This competition will run from May 1-8.

The duckshooting photograph competition is looking for the best duckshooting pic. It might be in the maimai, on the water or a pic of your favourite retrieving dog. All photos will be considered with prizes up for grabs.

Plus don’t forget to grab your Fish and Game licence from the i-Site, open weekdays from 8.30am-4pm and weekends from 10-4pm.

The competition will run from May 6-13, post your photo on Facebook with #WDCduckshootingcomp2023
