Wairoa will always be home for local girl, and EIT student, Veronica Bramley.
So, when it was time for the third-year Bachelor of Business student to choose an organisation for her 17-week, industry-based learning programme, looking for an opportunity at home was a no-brainer.
Veronica applied for her internship at the Wairoa Library, which was offering a placement through Council.
She spent the past 17 weeks doing all sorts of marketing work, from creating mobile apps to sourcing images. But her main project was creating interactive apps on the new touch-table at the library, which has proven to be a hit with local children.
Veronica's placement became more exciting when she created and edited a video about the touch-table.
"My family is from Wairoa… and, when they knew that the library was looking for an intern, I did my application through the council," Veronica said.
"It has been awesome. You get to be creative in the work that you do, and the staff have been amazing."
Veronica was born and raised in Wairoa, and attended Wairoa College.
She is doing a double-major in management and marketing.
