Traffic delays expected at Black’s Beach

blacksbeach 07 2023

Work will begin on Monday to clear a large slip at Black’s Beach.

Motorists are advised that there are likely to be traffic delays of up to 30 minutes while the work is carried out.

The slip will be cleared by bringing slip debris, which includes large rocks, down from the top of the clip, and then loading it out from the bottom. As a safety precaution, traffic will need to be stopped from driving through the work site while this work is carried out to ensure the safety of road users. It is expected to take around three weeks to move the slip, weather permitting.

Unfortunately, there is no alternative route as the Tunanui Road is closed due to a bad slump.

Thank you to all motorists for your patience while this work is carried out.
