Supporting businesses to grow their operations is a partnership approach between the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Wairoa District Council.
Council has already facilitated around 30 meetings for local business operators wanting advice and support. The programme includes specialist Growth Advisors who help business owners and key managers identify needs and opportunities to grow their businesses. They provide advice, information, referrals and connections to businesses seeking support for their growth journey.
The service is provided through the Chamber’s Regional Business Partner (RBP) Programme. Through this programme, business resilience funding (also called “HB Cyclone Recovery Fund”) can be accessed by Cyclone - and otherwise - affected businesses to support the cost of accessing a variety of training services.
The training is delivered by (RBP) approved trainers through workshops, courses, or one-on-one coaching. Through this programme, HB Chamber is trying to enhance businesses’ capability in areas like financial literacy, business planning, strategy, systems, continuity, HR, leadership, marketing, resilience, social media and wellbeing. The value of the funding is between $2 -5,000, depending on the assessment criteria.
