With the luxury of time, perhaps a lowered expectation, and some haze-inducing drugs, a kind of sublime, relaxed psychedelia can be the happy result when you see Auckland's 'not The Church...but damn close', perform 'Live' in concert. 'not The Church...but damn close are a tribute Act that deliver a unique psychedelic and Sonic full band sound, performing songs from Australian Psychedelic icons 'The Church'.
If you don't know much about 'The Church' or their music, you may remember 'Under The Milky Way' ? or perhaps 'The Unguarded Moment' ?
Auckland's Radio 95bfm said; 'if you've never got the chance to see 'The Church' 'live' in concert, then 'not The Church...but damn close' are the next best thing, they do it so well". They are without doubt the best church tribute band in the world, and who says so? founding members from 'The Church' themselves.
'not The Church...but damn close' are no strangers to the Saloon having performed there back in 2022.
