Join us to commemorate the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi at Te Awa o Mokotuararo (Clive), Hawke's Bay! This historic event, close to where Te Tiriti was signed in 1840, promises a day of reflection and action. Turn up anytime during the day at Farndon Park to join in this free commemoration. All welcome.
Starting at 7:45 am at Atea a Rangi, Waitangi Park, with karakia, followed by a Hikoi of Unity to Farndon Park. Bring your flags.
Haka powhiri at 8:45 am, led by mana whenua, followed by korero from historians and local leaders. Waka, small boats and fluttering flags will provide the backdrop to this popular riverside event.
Morning tea and light lunch provided.
The event will conclude by 2pm.
