Long Term Plan 2024-27

Consultation Notice: Council’s Three-Year Plan

The consultation period for the Three-Year Plan (3YP) 2024-27 opened Monday 17 June 2024 and closes Wednesday 17 July 2024.

Our 3YP outlines what Council plans to do over the next three years and how it will be paid for.

Due to the impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023 and other weather events, the Government is allowing eight Councils, including Wairoa, to reduce their LTP forecasts to three years rather than the usual 10 years.

The 3YP includes details about our services, activities, and projects we have planned, when we are going to deliver them, and issues and challenges facing our district and community. It also tells you what your rates may look like for the next three years.

In this 3YP, Council is proposing an average rate increase of 19.5 percent for the 2024-25 fiscal year, 15.5 percent for the 2025-26 fiscal year and 10 percent for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

The consultation document, online submission form and all supporting documents is now available on our website.

The document is also available from the following locations: Wairoa District Council’s Main Office in Queen Street, the Wairoa Library, and the Wairoa isite.
