A Musical Afternoon of Fireworks

A Musical Afternoon of Fireworks

Joining together for a musical concert celebrating an Afternoon of Fireworks are the Napier Technical Memorial Band, Napier Tech Junior Band and the HB Community Orchestra. This concert will initially showcase each group separately before a grand finale of the Tech Band and Community Orchestra playing Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks.
The Tech Band have chosen some of their previous favourites to delight the audience with, before being joined on stage by the Junior Band for a lively, fun arrangement of Shrek Dance Party.
The Junior Band, fresh from their debut on the stage at the HB Festival of Bands, will perform three further items including the well known NZ folksong Wellerman, which is guaranteed to get the audience humming along.
Adding a completely new sound to our usual Tech Band concerts is the collaboration with the HB Community Orchestra which will bring the sound of strings to the Salvation Army Citadel.
The highlight of the afternoon will surely be Music for the Royal Fireworks performed by over 40 musicians with visual effects to enhance the occasion.
Come along and enjoy this spectacular musical afternoon for just $15 per adult (children are free).
Each group is always keen to welcome new players. If you are interested in joining any group, email tcuthbert@napiercentral.school.nz.
