Hawke's Bay SingFest Concert

Hawke

The New Zealand Choral Federation holds SingFests throughout NZ every year. These events are an opportunity for adult choirs to get together to share their love of choral music, meet and listen to other choirs, and learn something new. The singers gather for morning tea, then have a session with an experienced choral conductor (this year, well-known musician, actor and theatre producer Jane Pierard) and then perform in a concert open to the public. Each of the seven choirs participating this year has 10 - 12 minutes to present 3 or 4 of their favourite songs. Some are sung a'cappella, others accompanied by piano, guitar or other instruments, and the styles vary from classical to jazz, from folk music to pop songs! There is something for everyone to enjoy, and everyone is welcome to attend.
