Toitū Te Reo, the world's first Māori language festival will be hosted in the Heretaunga CBD and feature: three symposium stages, an exhibition area, a toi Māori space, outdoor stages, Māori language street activities, rangatahi and kaumātua spaces, artists, live shows (Taringa, Something For The People, Na Wai i Teka), a whānau & tamariki area, kapa haka performances and more. It will provide a platform for thousands of New Zealanders to come together and celebrate what the language means to us in Aotearoa. It will inspire, it will entertain, it will unite, it will challenge, it will excite, and it will activate. Toitū Te Reo the inaugural National Māori Language Festival - is the next evolution of Te Reo ki Tua. Te Reo ki Tua - The National Māori Language Symposium has been running for seven years in Heretaunga and has grown exponentially in that time
